The Moscow Police Department will hold its second press conference on Sunday, one week after four University of Idaho students were fatally stabbed.
The police also provided some additional information on Saturday night. Most importantly, during the course of their investigation into the homicides, police exonerated another individual and revealed that one of the two surviving roommates’ smartphones was used to make the 911 call from inside the house.
I seniors Madison Mogen, 21, of Coeur d’Alene, and Kaylee Goncalves, 21, of Rathdrum; junior Xana Kernodle, 20, of Post Falls; and first-year Ethan Chapin, 20, of Mount Vernon, Washington, were the four victims in the early-Sunday, Nov. 13, killings. On Saturday, Moscow police said on Facebook that officers had looked into the ride-share driver.
The information is “part of the current investigation,” according to the police. The two surviving roommates were not involved in the crime, according to authorities this week.
According to a press release on Saturday, they went out independently on Saturday, November 12, in Moscow, and got back home around one in the morning on Sunday, November 13. Authorities claim that they later slept late.
According to the police, more surveillance is being sought from residences and businesses “within the geographical area” of West Taylor Avenue (north border), West Palouse River Drive (south boundary),
the U.S. 95-2700 block (east boundary), and the Arboretum and Botanical Garden (west).
On November 13, 3 a.m. to 6 a.m. is the desired time. On Sunday, a press conference will be held in the Alumni Lounge of the ICCU Arena at 3 p.m. Pacific time (4 p.m. Mountain time).
