Actor Jeremy Renner is in ‘critical but stable condition’ after snowplow accident


Actor Jeremy Renner was injured shoveling snow Sunday, leaving him in a “critical but stable condition,” according to his publicist.


“At this time we can confirm that Jeremy is in a critical but stable condition with injuries following a weather-related accident while plowing snow this morning,” publicist Samantha Mast told KABC ABC in Los Angeles. His family is with him and he is well looked after.


Renner was airlifted from the scene in Reno, Nevada, to a local hospital, the Washoe County Sheriff’s Office said.

“About 9 a.m. on January 1, 2023, the Washoe County Sheriff’s Office responded to a traumatic injury in the Mt. Rose Highway area of Reno, Nevada,” the sheriff’s office said in a statement.


Authorities said they were investigating the incident.
“Mr. Renner was the only person involved in the incident,” the sheriff’s office said.


The Reno area received heavy snowfall over the weekend, with the Reno-Tahoe International Airport setting a daily record of 9 inches on December 31.


Renner, 51, played Hawkeye in Marvel’s The Avengers and the Disney+ series Hawkeye. He also received Oscar nominations for The Town and The Hurt Locker.

The actor is best known for playing the superhero Hawkeye in the Marvel Cinematic Universe and has made several appearances as the character, including in The Avengers and last year’s Disney series Hawkeye. He currently plays Mike McCluskey in the thriller The Mayor of Kingstown. The new season starts on January 15th.
