Georgia Football National Championships History

The Georgia Bulldogs won the 2021 national championship, beating Alabama and eliminating the possibility of a first-time CFP champion. In 2022, Georgia has a chance to become its first straight winner after going undefeated in the regular season and reach the Peach Bowl, where they will face Ohio State in the CFP semifinals.
The last two years for Georgia have put the Bulldogs in a rare showing for the program. Georgia have lost just one game since the start of the 2021 season. The only two-year span in which the Bulldogs lost just one game or less in two consecutive seasons was in 1982–83 when Vince Dooley’s Georgia side scored 21-2. 1 for two years.

Georgia has only one game to lose this season and has a chance to make it the fourth undefeated season in Bulldog history.

In the history of Georgian football, the Bulldogs have won two national championships. The first appeared in 1980 and the last in 2021.
Throughout college football history, picking a title winner has not always been easy. Until 1998, the first year of the BCS, there were no national championship games, meaning that previous national champions were considered by polls and organizations, and often retrospectively selected.
