Welcome to the weekend of games and more games. I’m sure you’re a bit behind on the biggest news as quite a lot has happened today so let’s update you with the latest stories. We’ve heard that Sifu is getting a live-action adaptation, HBO has released a new trailer for the upcoming show based on The Last of Us, and players aren’t thrilled with the progress Overwatch 2 has made since launch. There’s more where it came from, so read on for the rest.
Sifu Is Getting A Live-Action Adaptation By John Wick Writer
Yesterday’s popular game Sifu will be getting a live-action adaptation, at least according to some credible reports. The screenplay for this upcoming film was apparently written by John Wick’s Derek Kolstad. This film is produced by Dmitri Johnson, Mike Goldberg, Dan Jevons, Timothy Stevenson and of course Kolstad. The plot will obviously follow the game pretty closely, presenting a tale of revenge and justice. The project is currently described as “John Wick meets old M. Night Shyamalan”.
“I changed everything, I didn’t improve anything,” the Overwatch 2 players reflect on season one
Overwatch 2 was released on October 4, 2024 to somewhat mixed reviews, but overall impressions were positive. However, this particular assessment doesn’t seem to hold up, with players describing the game as “changing everything, improving nothing”. For example, a Reddit user known as AgentWowza noted that “the balance is terrible. Bugs are terrible. Skin doesn’t matter because it’s overvalued.” Season 1 seems to be a bit of a flop.
